Family Federation’s Dr. Hak Ja Han is giving condolatory speech at the Commemorative Ceremony for the Third Anniversary of Family Federation for World Peace and Unification’s founder, Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s Seonghwa, which was held at the Cheong Shim Peace World Center in Gyeonggi, Gapyeong in the morning of the 30th.

On September 3, 2012, Family Federation for World Peace and Unification’s Rev. Sun Myung Moon passed away at the age of 93.

During the three years following that, there has been much fear and concern that with the absence of Rev. Sun Myung Moon, who established a foundation for Family Federation through his strong charisma, the church congregation would shrink rapidly. However, contrary to those concerns, under the direction of his wife, Dr. Hak Ja Han, who had been the steadfast pillar of support during Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s life, the Family Federation in Korea, Japan, South America, Europe, Asia, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, every region in the world is reorganizing the legacy established by Rev. Moon and making new determinations.

That is why this year, which marks the Third Anniversary of Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s Seonghwa, the Family Federation is hosting its most diverse and extravagant commemorative events yet.

2015 held at the Gwanghwamun Plaza in Seoul on the 27th.

First of all, on August 30, the “Commemorative Ceremony for the Third Anniversary of Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s Seonghwa” was held magnificently in Gyeonggi, Gapyeong. At this ceremony, three thousand people, including current and former heads of state, as well as domestic and international prominent figures, came to pay their respects.

In particular, on this day, Kim Jong-Un of North Korea sent a telegram with a message of condolence saying, “To Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s Family.” Chairman Kim also sent a telegram in September, 2012, when Rev. Moon passed away, and gave him the “Unification of the Homeland Award.” He also sent condolences at the First Anniversary of Rev. Moon’s Seonghwa in 2013. This shows us the scope of the activities that Rev. Moon carried out during his life for the sake of North and South Korean Unification and world peace.

On the morning of the 28th, the first Sunhak Peace Prize Award Ceremony was held at the Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas Hotel in Seoul. From the left, Dr. Hak Ja Han, Kiribati President Anote Tong and India’s Dr. Modadugu Gupta are taking a commemorative photo after the ceremony.

It began simultaneously on May 30 in Santiago, Chile, Las Vegas, USA and The Cape of Good Hope, South Africa and throughout continental Africa, Europe, Middle East and Asia (Oceania), as well as through the South, Central and North America, Japan route before ending on the Korean Peninsula on August 21, connecting all the five great continents. Transcending nationalities, religion, races, 121 nations and 30,000 people participated in this event by either walking, biking or driving, covering a total of 3,000 km.

The first recipients of the “Sunhak Peace Prize,” which gets its name from Rev. Moon and Dr. Han’s names, were selected and awarded at the Grand Intercontinental Seoul in Samsung, Seoul. This award is given to individuals or organizations that have made a significant contribution towards the peace and welfare of future generations. The monetary prize is one million dollars. The honor and glory of being the first recipients went to Kiribati President Anote Tong (63) who has been raising awareness on the importance of climate change to the global community and India’s Dr. Modadugu Gupta (76), who led the “Blue Revolution” by developing fish farming technology. The Family Federation plans to select recipients and award this prize annually.

The Family Federation also published the “Champumo Gyeong” in Korean, English and Japanese. The “Champumo Gyeong” is one of the Three Great Scriptures of the Family Federation, along with the “Cheon Seong Gyeong” and “Peace Messages.” It is a record of Rev. Moon and Dr. Han’s life course compiled into 13 chapters, 45 books, 184 chapters, 3,738 chapters and 1,674 pages by the Family Federation’s True Parents’ Speeches Compilation Committee (Chairman Young-Whi Kim). This record was given much significance and exact dates and situations briefly described were included. The Family Federation explained that the “’Champumo Gyeong’ is a final report on the providence of God and the record of two people who were completely victorious in establishing God’s Will on this earth.”

In addition, the Family Federation is hosting the “2015 Third Anniversary of the Universal Seonghwa Love Sharing Global Worship Service” and the “Leader’s Briefing Session for the Victory of the Third Anniversary of Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s Seonghwa” in major cities nationwide.

They will be done on a nationwide scale. However, the Cheon Il Guk Foundation Day will be commemorated internationally in January by the lunar calendar.
