The 6th Division of the Search Battalion just cemented the dignity of their unit with the implementation of the distinguished and practical “Mountain Motorcycle.” The Mountain Motorcycle, a worthy companion to the DMZ search operations, is a two-seat, four-wheeled all-terrain vehicle that can reach speeds up to 120 km per hour, carry loads up to 250 kg and tow up to 1.8 tons. The outstanding maneuverability functions of the Motorcycle allow the 6th Division of the Search Battalion to thoroughly inspect the critical points of ambush sites. The Division has invested in five motorcycles for their operations, and assigns squadron soldiers with mountain bike licenses as drivers. The passengers include the team leader, the dispatch radio officer, the machine gunner and the grenade launcher. The battalion is poised to release an impressive display of firepower at the first sign of emergency.
