Representatives from thirty-five European nations gathered on May 9th to 16th in Austria, Germany and England to celebrate the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification’s fifty years of Mission Work in Europe.
This is the first official tour that Dr. Hak Ja Han (72) has embarked upon after Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s (1920~2012) ascension. It was also the first tour overseas for Family Federation International President Sun Jin Moon, who was appointed on the 13th of last month.

On May 10th, two thousand members of the Europe Family Federation participated in the Vienna rally in Austria. Approximately 1,500 people are expected to participate in the Frankfurt rally Germany on the 14th, and one thousand people are anticipated for the London rally in England on the 16th. Dr. Hak Ja Han will speak at the Vienna UN Headquarters on the 11th, and International President Sun Jin Moon will give interviews with the local media.

The Family Federation’s Europe Missionary work Commemoration Rally is to be held on Mother’s Day (May 10th) in the European region. This asserts the importance of “One Family Under God” similar to the way parents make sacrifices for their children, and also signifies the Family Federation’s establishing this direction of life. This occasion also signifies the Victory in Europe Day (May 8th), marking seventy years since the victory of World War II, this year. The Little Angels’ Cultural Troupe, representing Korea, will give a congratulatory performance.
Reflecting upon half a century of the Europe mission, on the one hand, Dr. Han encourages the believers, but she also urges for a new beginning.
She presented the goal for the Europe church to work towards until 2020, which will be the year when Rev. Moon will turn one hundred years old.
She urges them to carry on the work that Rev. Moon had started. The Family Federation has stated that it “The churches in Europe plan to take Dr. Han’s visit as an opportunity to direct all its energy toward ‘VISION 2020,’ which Dr. Han has been emphasizing.”
The Family Federation began their missionary work in Europe as Rev. Moon selected nineteen Holy Grounds in sixteen countries including England, Germany and France. Rev. In 1985, at the Professors’ World Peace Association (PWPA) International Conference held at the Continental Hotel in Geneva, Switzerland, Rev. Moon affirmed the collapse of the Soviet Union’s Communist regime.
At that time, no one believed him, but in the end, four years later, the Soviet Union collapsed. In 1987, two thousand members of the Collegiate Association of Researched Principles (CARP), a Family Federation affiliated organization, held peace marches in front of the Berlin Wall for the sake of world peace and tearing down the Berlin Wall.
