Application for the STF Europe Program for the Year of 2015-2016

As STF staff we are pleased to announce the commencement of the application process for the STF Europe program for the year of 2015-2016. The duration of the program will be approximately 47 weeks starting from 13th September 2015, concluding on 7th August 2016. Please consider your application carefully before arriving for the commencement of the year.

It is highly recommended to open communication with your parents regarding the decision to join the program this year. The motivation and decision should come from the participant and not from the parent forcing them to go. It has been the case several times before that the parents pushed their children to attend, resulting in unnecessary struggles, difficulties and lack of commitment to the schedule. Unity with parents and children regarding this decision is crucial to the application process and is the foundation for a successful year, resulting in a clear, personal motivation from the participant. In the first week of the program there will be a trial week allowing the participants to finalize their decision to participate, upon first meeting STF staff and experiencing a little bit of the atmosphere before entering into the STF Kickoff workshop.

Participation in the STF program provides an active environment giving participants the opportunity to develop a strong, stable faith and relationship with God and True Parents; essential for the life that they will create later upon the foundation that they build on the program.

The program itself focuses on a combination of study as well as practical application that aims to promote spiritual growth through activities such as HDH, team life and relationships, workshops, fundraising, witnessing as well as project activities. Throughout the duration of the year and particularly within these various aspects of the program, a selected staff of lecturers and Itinerary Workers will guide and lead with the focus of providing the best possible support for each participant. They aim to guide the participants in finding their own relationship with God as well as understanding their identity and value as a son or daughter of our heavenly parent.

The current deadline for STF Europe applications are: International applicants (non-EU): June 15th, 2015 European applicants: June 30th, 2015

The application process is done on a first come, first serve basis, allowing for a maximum of 30 applicants as potential participants. After application you will receive a confirmation email, verifying your place on the STF Europe 2015/2016 program.

The applicants wishing to join the STF Program must reach at least 18 years of age in the calendar year of 2015, before or during the duration of the program, and should have graduated from High School or College. It is recommended to consider the university application before attending the STF program. Usually one can defer their study for a year upon accepting a placement in order to avoid any problems. As well as this practical reason, it allows the participant to focus fully on the STF schedule without having to worry about making their university application and all the complications and stress that can follow this.

Please be aware that we are not limiting the program to only those in this age group. University graduates and those taking a gap year in their university studies have also had great experiences taking part in the STF program, contributing their greater maturity and life experience.

The STF Preparation Workshop As mentioned above, the STF preparation workshop is a time for the participants to gain a clearer understanding of the program that they have applied to be a part of. It is also a time for the STF staff to evaluate those participants to decide whether or not they have the qualification to attend this year’s STF program. Therefore it is essential for all STF applicants to join and participate fully in this STF Prep Workshop.

WS Dates: 13th September (arrival) to 20th September WS place: Gaflenz, Austria Nearest airports: Linz (from London Stansted ), Salzburg (from London Stansted or Dublin), Vienna (for International arrivals) also Munich and Klagenfurt are possible.

It is possible for us to pick you up from Amstetten (Austria) train station if you travel via train from any of the above airports, unless you are part of a bigger group. If possible, please gather to form groups based on country, allowing for easier pickups. If you can form a group, then pickup at the airport directly will be an option.

Participants who are accepted will immediately proceed onto the full schedule of the program starting from 20th September with the “Kick-Off” workshop, which will prepare the participants for the first fundraising period of 2 weeks with lectures and guidance from selected and experienced lecturers. Following this is the promise of an exciting year, packed with rich experiences and numerous opportunities for the participant to grow to reach their full potential.

International applicants (non EU) - VISA All international applicants for the STF program must take personal responsibility to secure an appropriate visa; STF Europe will not be responsible for taking care of obtaining visas on the participant’s behalf.

On receiving your completed application form, we will send you an STF handbook including more detailed information about how to prepare yourself for the STF year both internally and externally. Please take time to read it in detail to fully understand every aspect. The participant will be expected to especially understand the rules of the program so as not to have any misunderstandings throughout the year. Please also note that either you or your parents will be asked to take responsibility to pay for any items of clothing or equipment which are needed, that you fail to bring with you to STF. 3. The STF staff will review all applications and send responses as soon as possible during June and July 2014.

STF CODE OF CONDUCT 2015-2016
