In accordance with True Parents’ special instructions, the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation is now receiving applications for the Wonmo Pyeongae Global Leaders Scholarship Program for the second semester of a Korean language course for competent leaders in the public mission who have the potential to serve as a national leader. We would like to ask all regional headquarters to base their selection of scholarship recipients on the guidelines within the attached program guidebook.

1. Education Program The First semester of 2017 Korean language course at Sun Moon University (a one-year program)

2. Number of scholarship students to be accepted: 10 (maximum)

3. Benefits for the scholarship students A. Full tuition for the Korean language course B. Support for food expenses including meals on weekends C. Support for the dormitory fee D. Please refer to the attached guidebook for more details

4. Applicant Requirements (must satisfy all qualifications below) A. A citizen or resident of the mission nation (Korean citizens are ineligible) B. A university graduate, or with equivalent or higher educational qualification C. A person who commits to completing the entire Korean language course (one year) D. A person who is recommended by the regional president or national leader in the mission nation E. A person who has served at least 1 year of public mission in the mission nation or a person who has served at least 2 years in a life of devotion (The devotion standard is based on their region.)

F. A person who commits to returning to the mission nation and serving in a public mission as a national leader candidate under the direction of the regional president after completing the scholarship program G. A person with no physical or mental disabilities (Pregnant women are also ineligible.) H. A person who, representing his or her region, can help educate and manage general scholarship students taking the course

5. Selection Procedure Each regional headquarters must collect the documents submitted by the applicants and send them to the international headquarters. HJ World Peace Foundation will conduct the final selection. Please refer to the guidebook for more details.

① 해당국가의 국적자, 장기 거주자 (한국 국적자 제외함) ② 해당국가 정규 대학교 졸업자 ③ 한국어교육원 1 년과정을 이수할 수 있는 자 ④ 대륙회장이나 국가회장으로부터 정식 공직자 발령을 받고 1 년이상 수행한 자 혹은 해당국가나 선교지에서 2 년 이상 헌신생활을 한 자(헌신 기준은 해당대륙 기준에 따름) ⑤ 장학프로그램 이수 후 해당 국가로 귀국하여 대륙회장의 지시에 따라 국가회장 후보자로서 공직을 지속할 자 ⑥ 육체적, 정신적 장애가 없는자 (임상부와 장애인 제외함) ⑦ 해당대륙의 일반 장학생을 교육, 관리할 수 있는 자

A. Entry  Students must arrive Korea before the opening day of the 1st semester in 2017. * Detailed schedule for the day of entry will be notified later.  Students are required to get a D-4 visa. Visit the Korean Embassy or Korean Consulate in your country of residence with the invitation letter from Sun Moon University.  Students are advised to prepare sufficient funds to cover personal expenses during their stay in Korea. Cancellation of Scholarship Selection  When any document for scholarship application has been found to contain false information.  When a scholarship student does not enter Korea by the opening day of the 1st semester in 2017.  When the admission of Sun Moon University Korean language course is canceled.  When a scholarship student is not allowed to move into the dorm due to health issues.

E. Suspension of Scholarship Issuance  When a scholarship student has violated the written pledge.  When a scholarship student is punished by Sun Moon University or involved in certain forms of political activities.  When a scholarship student has detracted the reputation of FFWPU International Headquarters, Sun Moon University, and HJ World Peace Foundation by hurting the dignity of the scholarship.  When the student has violated the guidelines and regulations set by FFWPU International Headquarters, Sun Moon University, and HJ World Peace Foundation.  During the Korean Language course, scholarship students must attend all classes (attendance must exceed 90% of total class time) including summer and winter sessions. If a student has any special reason to be absent from a class, he or she must receive permission from his or her teacher in advance.

What is an insurance fee? Every international student at Sun Moon University joins the insurance service provided by Sun Moon University, unless a student has already joined another international insurance service.

If I go eat outside of school, will I be reimbursed? No, if you eat anywhere other than the school cafeteria, you will not be reimbursed. You will be responsible for your personal expenses.

What happens to the international students during winter/summer session? Students in the Wonmo Pyeongae Global Leaders Scholarship Program are expected to stay at the dormitory during the winter/summer session, since there will be education programs. The information about the educational programs during the winter/summer will be announced later. The school cafeteria is open during the winter/summer session.

What is the situation regarding medical coverage and medical insurance? There is a health center on the first floor of the Student Building on campus. Please refer to the table below for descriptions of medical coverage. Please contact Sun Moon University for the process of getting the medical coverage.
