Parts of the Choen Il Guk Constitution were amended and the amendment was approved by True Parents. 3. We would like to promulgate the partial amendment to the Cheon Il Guk Constitutitution and hope that each region and country will actively share the content with all the blessed families.

Official Announcement of Amendments to the Cheon Il Guk Constitution

The Amended Portions of the Cheon Il Guk Constitution are promulgated as follows:

June 4th by the Heavenly Calendar in the 4th year of Cheon Il Guk

(July 7th 2016)

1. Reason for the Amendments

- In order to contribute more effectively to the settlement of the substantial Cheon Il Guk, True Parents gave a direction to continuously research and supplement the Cheon Il Guk Constitution by reflecting upon the opinions from the blessed families. Therefore, in accordance with True Parents’ words, the Cheon Il Guk Supreme Council has amended the Cheon Il Guk Constitution with the content that has been researched and discussed, and with the opinions given by the blessed families around the world. The Cheon Il Guk Supreme Council is promulgating this 2nd amendment to the Cheon Il Guk Constitution.

2. Main Amendments A. Change “Church” to “Family Federation for World Peace and Unity. (Title, Preamble)

B. Stipulate improved processes for management of public assets (Article 15) and deliberation and reviewing of budget bills and project bills. (Article 55)

C. The True Parents may appoint and dismiss a public official for the sake of a special providence. (Clause 4 in Article 22)

D. Stipulate the qualifications for appointing the major public officials. (Clause 2 in Article 30, Clause 1 in Article 31, Clause 1 in Article 45, Clause 2 in Article 61, Clause 2 in Article 66, Clause 2 in Article 71, and Clause 1 in Article 74) E. Expand the autonomy for appointing Vice Chairpersons of the five Wons. (Article 49, Article 60, 65, and 70)

F. The Chairperson of the Cheon Il Guk Supreme Council does not need to concurrently serve as the International President of the Cheon Jeong Won. (Clause 1 in Article 30) G. Change “Judge” of the Cheon Beob Won to “Member.” (Article 60, 61, 62, and 63)

H. Amend “Church Self-Governance of Area Units” to “Self-Governance of Regional and National Units” and delete “Church” in the following articles. (Article 76-82, Article 3 in Addenda)

Addenda Article 1: Effective Date This Constitution became effective on June 4th by the Heavenly Calendar in the 4th year of Cheon Il Guk. (July 7th 2016 by the Solar Calendar)
