Letter Announcing the Opening of Wongu Peace and Happiness School of Oriental Medicine in Las Vegas
Jung Soon Cho December 12, 2012
Dear Beloved Brothers and Sisters,
Greetings from Las Vegas!
I am pleased to share with you some very exciting news. Wongu Peace and Happiness University, the first and only school of Oriental medicine in Nevada, is currently accepting applications for the winter quarter beginning on January 2, 2013. Here is the opportunity to discover a career as an Oriental Medical Doctor (OMD), the highest recognition achievable by practitioners within the field in the United States. Thanks to the generosity of our True Parents, new students can apply to receive an annual scholarship of up to $5,000!
Many changes are taking place in the medical industry as patients and physicians are beginning to accept the limitations of western medicine while at the same time recognizing the benefits of medicine from the East. The Divine Principle credits the success of Oriental medicine to the fact that “its founding principles, which focus on the concepts of yang and yin are in accordance with the Principle of Creation (Divine Principle, 1.2 The Relationship between God and the Universe).” In their providential journey, under physically challenging circumstances, True Parents experienced the tremendous benefits of Oriental medicine first-hand through treatments such as acupuncture, cupping, and moxibustion. These treatments are recognized worldwide as being safe, effective, and non-invasive.
Wongu is offering a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM), a rigorous comprehensive program which integrates both Eastern and Western medicine. The MSOM also includes a clinical internship program through which our students will acquire 1,000 hours of hands-on practice with the guidance of highly qualified staff. Our clinical facility will provide the necessary training for students so that they will acquire all the practical skills to apply in their work as medical professionals.
In terms of location, Las Vegas is a premier choice for this field as it is one of the major international hubs and hot spots for alternative medicine. In Nevada, there are less than 50 Oriental Medical Doctors tendering to a state population of over 2.7 million! With one of the lowest practitioner/patient ratios, there is an enormous demand for Oriental medicine and for an Oriental medicine school. However the market is not limited to Las Vegas or Nevada as our graduates will be able to apply to practice in over 40 states and even in certain countries overseas!
Brothers and sisters, if you are interested in receiving more information about Wongu, please do not hesitate to call our office. Forward this letter to anyone who may express interest in studying Oriental medicine. I ask for your consideration and input as we continue to build a highly prestigious, world renowned school of Oriental medicine in Las Vegas. There is a bright future ahead for both first and second generation capable of building solid professional careers in a highly promising field, both in and out of Nevada.
May God and True Parents blessings be with you and your families!
Warm regards,
Jung Soon Cho
