Victorious Life of Anna Carvell October 20, 1950 - December 7, 2014
Anna Carvell (maiden name: Soglia) was born October 20, 1950 to Adolfo and Guerrina Soglia in Bologna, Italy. Growing up, Anna enjoyed her studies very much and was gifted in language and art. She attended the University of Bologna and received a Bachelor’s in English. She then went to England in 1975 to work. She met and joined the Unification Church in 1978. In 1980, Anna was asked to come to America to join MFT under Rev. Kamiyama. Anna was matched to Robert Carvell and was blessed in Madison Square Garden on July 1, 1982. She spent a couple of years in IOWC and then joined her husband in February 1986 in Austin, TX. She moved with her husband to Little Rock, Arkansas in 1987 where their first daughter, Ariella, was born. In 1988, her husband received a mission from True Father to work with Hyo Jin Nim in the Manhattan Center and the whole family moved to New York City. They lived in Hastings, NY from 1990-96, and their son, Rowan, was born there in 1996. From there the family moved to Clifton, NJ in 1996 and then joined the Pocono family church community in PA from 2001- present.
Anna lived in America for over 30 years, but she always expressed a strong love for her home country, Italy. She also kept her faith in Catholicism throughout her life and even wrote to Mother Angelica about
the Unification Church. She was a lifelong student, taking courses at home in the subjects of fashion and floral arranging as well as attending local ballroom dance classes for 5 years. She is survived by her husband Robert, daughter Ariella, and son Rowan.
