Celebrating the UN International Day of Peace by talking about the Migrant Crisis and how we can help.

While at the Dublin Peace Forum I was praying even though I was talking. I asked God that every word I said would be a prayer of hope and compassion. The room was packed with angels surrounding all of the people who were from different backgrounds, different religions and of course, different ages.

There were a number of young people at the event. Young people are the future of the world. It is so important for the young to be involved in creating peace and to bring love and compassion into the world. The world is evolving so rapidly and we are on the verge of a war like no other war before. Young people need to be more aware of the world and what’s happening at the moment.

There are children out there, children in the middle of war and conflict, who at the moment are saying “What have I done wrong?” We have allowed our differences and God to be such a weapon. Even here in Ireland, we have so many religious communities but we are all very separate. We haven’t really come together as brothers and sisters. I see a guardian angel with each and every one of you regardless of your religion. We have to be willing to help each other. We need to give and share. If you have two coats, give one. Give what you can.

Thank you to all involved including the Chester Beatty Library, all our wonderful sponsors, the Sisters of Faith for Peace, Women’s Federation for World Peace and of course, Doris McCann. Most importantly thank you to those who came to the event. Especially to all the young people who attended. I thank my youngest daughter for organizing so much and particularly for inviting young people to the event. The young people played a huge part by speaking what they thought about the Migrant Crisis.

Blessing to you, your loved ones, and your family,
