Another view of Jesus

Was Jesus physically crucified? Did Jesus physically die when he was 33?

As in previous essays, this essay is not related to restoration, but to the understanding of the 4-position foundation in relation of the spirit world and restoration, to its physical world base. Restoration can only be achieved in the physical world, not in spirit world; the fall occurred in the physical world, so restoration must take place in the physical world. Father repeatedly asked us to understand spirit world, not to be caught confused when we arrive there. That’s a form of hell.

Jesus was definitely crucified. He was not able to achieve his mission as Lord of Glory1 since he wasn’t received by the Israelites. Where’s the glory of a crucified Son of God? There’s no greater heart breaker in Heavenly Parent’s Heart than that. God’s work of restoration of thousands of years which had the ultimate intent to liberate mankind, so that He also may be liberated of His han ( 恨), was also frustrated. That in and of itself is a crucifixion. Not only Jesus, but we can say Heavenly Parent Himself was crucified, as He’d have to see several thousands of years more of His children destroying themselves and His Heart, along with the continued suffering of billions upon billions of His children in spirit world. Jesus never asked to be crucified. Rather, he asked to be believed2. Only when he saw the inevitable did he mention the cross, the end of his messianic mission. Due to John the Baptist’s disbelief, Jesus went the suffering way. Millions more were destined to die in wars, famines, disease, etc. The inability to find a providential wife was the crucifixion for Jesus. Didn’t he ask his mother for a wife? Didn’t Jesus tell people to just believe in his miracles? Do we read into the Bible that Jesus asked to be crucified? Is it our inability to accept our collective responsibility for Jesus’s crucifixion that impedes us to think like our Heavenly Parent?

Jesus came with the mission to save mankind, not just the Israelites. The Israelites were just his next base, the nation’s messiah; his own marriage blessing would be the first base after his own perfection. Like we have been prepared to do, Jesus was also to go through several levels of marriage, as our True Parents did. Jesus went through a first, family level marriage, which was not enough to be recognized providentially. Jesus himself was not the full image of God, but his couple would have been God’s parental image. He was born a man for a reason. In fact, Jesus was called rabbi3, a person expected to be married in Jewish tradition.

They would have given us the complete image of what a couple and family were to be. Their children would have completed his family 4-position foundation standard. If Jesus, a rabbi, had not been married, that in itself would have created questions and comments, as it would have been out of the custom. As is, we don’t see such observations in the New Testament. 1 1 Corinthians 2:8. 2 John 14:1, John 17:20-23, other. 3 Matthew 26:25, Mark 9:5, 11:21, 14:45, John 1:38,49, 2:2, 4:31, 625, 9:2, 11:8.

The New Testament would be a totally different book had Jesus been received rather than rejected; it would be more like our Divine Principle today, which our True Father, Rev. Sun Myung Moon gave us. There are principles we grow and perfect ourselves through. Studying the Divine Principle is a lot like studying a science; in this case having a focus on what spiritual laws of restoration and perfection are about, and preparing ourselves to live in the everlasting next world in Heaven, not hell. This also needs clarifying. Liken hell to a poorly made home or tool; we cannot use it well; or like a person physically and / or mentally incapacitated, trying to enjoy life, the gifts of God. Like we do with the angel, let’s stay away from the anthropomorphistic imagery of hell that has come down over the thousands of years.

Much has been written about Jesus and his crucifixion. Was he physically crucified at the age of 33? Below, I will include links and quotes from Father’s speeches and other sources. Was he married?

Jesus’s mother Mary was to bring others to a public wedding; the next level of marriage, such as True Parents told us we all had to participate in. On February 6, 2003, when Mother turned 60, True Parents held their 2nd wedding, the Coronation of the King of the Blessed Families of the Peace and Unity of the Cosmic True Parent and the True Parents of Heaven and Earth.4 Mother Mary could not bring herself to invite Israelites to a wedding of Jesus to his half sister!? How about John the Baptist?

Islam says Jesus was not crucified5. In studying religion, spirituality, restoration, etc, there are many figures of speech such as symbolism, allegory, parable, simile, metaphor, personification, antithesis, pun, anthropomorphism, riddle, alter ego, etc. The Bible is filled with them. We must sift them out.

The Romans did not crucify people due to their religious beliefs. Rome had nothing against Jesus. Israelites did, and Israel then was under Roman dominion.

In January 2000 Father said the life of Jesus did not end at age 336. In May of the same year Father added in ‘God’s Fatherland’, 33 is the age Jesus Christ finished his public ministry. Jesus should have blessed the world at 337. This can be interpreted as meaning that Jesus’s life continued, but not as originally planned. He didn’t / couldn’t bless the world, so his public ministry ended. Restoration providence has a timetable it must follow. Restoration numbers follow strict rules, too.

Evidence Jesus was married Evidence exists pointing to Jesus’s marriage to Mary Magdalene891011.

In a ‘Circa 1983’ speech, ‘God’s Providence in the Scriptures’ we read ‘Jesus’s spirit took the position of the actual sacrifice12’, his messianic mission. Jesus’s body was not sacrificed. Here, Father’s words were saying that the sacrifice was of his messianic mission, not his physical body. ‘The master of Hell, Satan, could not touch Jesus because of the foundation Jesus established13. The spirit, mission, was sacrificed, taken by Satan. Satan could not claim his body. He married, but he needed a national level marriage blessing for his marriage to have providential value, much as Father says we blessed couples need a national, then world level marriage blessing.

Barabbas was a metaphor14. There are many points we can choose, but the main clue was in the name Barabbas itself, which means son of the father. This is not a name commonly used anywhere in the world. Didn’t Jesus call God his Father in Heaven? This is a clue Jesus’s physical body was let go, while the thief on the right, representing Jesus’s messianic mission, ended with the words he’d be in paradise, not heaven with Jesus. (Luke 23:43 and others).

Though Israel was totally destroyed, Father said that ‘Italy will always be a providential nation’. This is one of several random points I remember Father saying, but I cannot find a quote in a speech. In https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historicity_of_Jesus we see that Biblical Jesus is different from historic Jesus. Nevertheless, a material world analysis of religion will never work, as the standards are totally different. Religion, by its nature doesn’t follow physical world standards; restoration follows its own laws, as does science, to achieve its goals.

Jesus’s sister loved him very much

Jesus’s sister loved Jesus very much. Father often spoke about Mary’s loyalty to Jesus15. In a second ‘Circa 1983’ speech, ‘Jesus’s Standard of Goodness’,16 we have the following quotes. ‘Jesus was the first one who was awakened to the fact that he had to die for the sake of God, God’s nation and all of God’s peoples’. Jesus was first true WOKE. This was not necessarily a physical death. Jesus was denied the opportunity to take a bride in the position of providential Eve. ‘Jesus was the perfected Adam and his mission was the restoration of mankind. The crucial step was to restore his own bride, Eve. Jesus was a man, one with God, but he was not God the Father‘.

In Father’s first version of the Divine Principle, the Wolli Wonbon, Father says Jesus was married to Mary.17

Father’s 6/29/58 speech says ‘It was Mary who loved Jesus the most’. ‘Because she loved Jesus, she forgot clothes & food, and lived only for Jesus. Her path of life transcended life and death and forgot any reputation’18. Father portrays Mary in the highest giving, sacrificial terms.

In Father’s speech on 5/26/57, ‘..because only Mary Magdalene comforted Jesus, was concerned about him and could feel the heavenly, internal heart of Jesus that represented past present & future, Jesus blessed her and, with the grace of joy, he could elevate her before the will of God’19. How could Jesus elevate Mary with the grace of joy, if not by making her his wife?

Also, ‘..more than his beloved disciples or countless other people, the actions of Mary Magdalene in that hour set the condition of having offered all of her heart & effort’20. This insinuates Jesus & Mary were one!? This is not a flirting heart, but one of a dedicated wife. Father was always concerned with purity of heart.

Harvard professor Karen King claims to have found evidence of Jesus talking about his wife21. Other scholars predictably were quick to deny it22.

In his 1983 ‘Jesus’s Standard of Goodness’ Father talks of Jesus and the importance to be married23.

Father again dedicates his speech to Jesus in this 1983 speech24.

In another speech I heard but could not verify, Father once stomped the floor & screamed saying Jesus should have gone to Rome, built an army, gone to Jerusalem & destroy it. Paraphrased. In part I was alarmed that he said it so emphatically, and Jesus wasn’t there to defend himself. For 30 years I was in shock at Father’s lack of honoring Jesus, who he always claimed to be his elder brother, mentor, etc..until I understood. Father was screaming at us, telling us that this is what Jesus did.

Why did Father repeat enough times that Jesus’s sister Mary attended and comforted Jesus very much, if not to hint to us that they were married.

Providential marriage It seems Jesus & Mary were married, but they needed a more public, national level offering, and support, including mother Mary, John the Baptist & Jewish public officials. In the Unification Church we need 3 levels of blessing. True Parents had another level of blessing. We need the family, national and world level blessing. Jesus had his family level marriage / blessing but coming as a national level messiah, he needed another level marriage / blessing. Father often spoke about the closeness, even intimacy of Jesus and Mary. Father was always very strict about our purity and horizontal relationships. Would Jesus and Mary have been impure as they were so close, or was Father insinuating that they were married? He spoke of Jesus & Mary being together, Mary soothing Jesus. It would not be Principled if they had been not married. In the family, national, world levels, Jesus needed national.

4-position foundation Even in the Principle I was uneasy accepting things at face value, even after years. Insights led to questions, which turned out to be related to physical world realities vs restoration realities. It 恨 became like an obsession. Why? I feel Heaven pushing me to liberate God’s . Important, as I have before mentioned, is the 4-position foundation. We don’t have the Hyung sang clear in our minds. I find this important to perfect ourselves, including knowing spirit world, i.e., O-D-U. How will this manifest practically? How do we explain the need for both clear understanding of the Sung sang and Hyung sang to non religious / non spiritual, materialistic, Communist, atheist or agnostic minds; Heaven is not about belief, but about living Principle.

Historic Jesus works in the same way. Jews & Muslims will feel peace. The physical crucifixion didn’t occur, but they didn’t receive Jesus as God’s only begotten son. I initially felt guilty, including thoughts I may be satanic, not accepting something commonly held as holy, the thought that Jesus

didn’t actually die for me / us. I later accepted that having to abandon his messianic mission to Bless mankind due to not being able to marry providentially due to non acceptance, or rejection, was enough crucifixion.
