World without angels

Introduction Since first publishing my angel paper a few years ago1, I’ve never stopped developing my thoughts as insights come to me piecemeal.

What has prompted this paper more recently is that I’ve noticed that people are not considering the religion vs material world differences. My angel paper has caused many reactions. Religious people do not consider that religion is not science nor the material world2; there’s a need for both Sung sang and Hyung sang (Abel and Cain-type) realms for restoration, to then build the Kingdom of Heaven3.

There is a fundamental difference between the Divine Principle and the Unification Thought; The Divine Principle, following biblical tradition, involves angels while Unification Thought does not4. Unification Thought goes straight into exposition of the Fall mentioning Satan, without mentioning angels or Lucifer: neither does it give much detail of the Fall.

Many religious people also do not realize that in studying religion, they are immersing themselves into a world of symbolism and figures of speech; i.e., parables, allegories, metaphors, puns, cynicism, irony, sarcasm, etc. The real world and religion are blurred in their minds. People apply spiritual laws and concepts when studying the physical world; they interpret the physical world using religious quotes, scripture or other. For example, Abrahamic religious believers consider human history started with Adam & Eve 6,000 years ago or that mankind was never meant to die physically, as told to me by a Jehovah’s

Witness. To them science becomes downright satanic to suggest otherwise. Indeed how many billions of years did God have to wait to create His ideal children? Yet Father said he believed in science5 and that man was hundreds of thousands of years old or more6.

As we uncover biblical truth down to its origins, we see that interpretation of these figures of speech which pepper the Bible, is where religions differ; root of ruptures and wars.

The Fall Did the Nephilim rape the daughters of men? No, according to Derek Gilbert7, a Christian who wrote several books. He states that God would not have punished mankind if it had been rape, indicating it was consensual.

According to Enoch, a full two hundred Nephilim men came down and took wives from the daughters of men because of their attraction. The biblical Fall of Eve and blame of Eve as the perpetrator of the Fall, and thus responsible for the Fall could have its roots here. In Sumerian writings it wasn’t just a single man but a group of 200 Anunnaki (also called Watchers) who took the daughters of men as wives8.

Statues of nude young ladies are a common subject of art world-wide. This would seem to fit in with the Principle that the Fall took place at the top of the growth stage. The attraction of young women confirms the beauty the Anunnaki saw in the young ladies9.

I ask if at the heart of the Fall problem is that these creations, humans,

arguably commissioned by God but later taken and mistreated by the Anunnaki themselves in the form of slave labor and later as wives, weren’t a chosen race.

Illicit sexual acts perpetrated against God’s chosen race, we have seen in history, have had severe consequences among the perpetrators. True Parents have spoken very severally against the raping of the Korean women, the chosen people, including the queen, especially during the occupation by Japan and later in WWII. The Israelites also were directed to keep their race pure in preparation to receive the Messiah. In Deuteronomy 7:3 Jews are explicitly prohibited to marry a gentile, non-Jew. The chosen race which over history has changed, has always been directed by God to remain pure.

The old Science vs Religion problem Who created the laws of science? God, of course did. Why would God go against the rules and laws of nature He created? God is not capricious. He follows the laws He created, even for providential matters; He works through His creation10. It is necessary to understand that religion is not science, but symbolic, having the purpose of restoring our minds/hearts. Father himself didn’t like religion but found it a necessity11.

There have been other reasons to write this report, one of several I’m writing. There are two aspects to our life, one is the material, scientific, exact world where we can use technology to go into space, put the Internet to use, etc. The other is the world of the spirit, religion, and other non-material aspects; all having for purpose our growth or restoration and purification. Neither can do what the other does.

In this paper I’m focusing on the latter. I’m using intuitive understanding, material world knowledge, and the social sciences to show that our interpretation of Biblical / religious events and beliefs can have historic or real world roots and explanations, nowadays often faultily ignored. requires clear thinking. We are entering that age, the Age of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Restoration Again, this paper is not about religion or restoration, nor is it a reinterpretation of religion or the Divine Principle. I’m not denying or opposing anything religious. As we know the study of religion is a necessity, as described by our True Parents, Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Hak Ja Han. As mentioned earlier, we need the united Abel (internal) type thought along with the Cain (external) type thought for growth and restoration, following the O-D-U process to complete the 4-position foundation. Father Moon went to great lengths to establish the Abel type sphere for this purpose. The (Cain) material world must unite under the (Abel) religious world for the sake of restoring ourselves to Heavenly Father. We are reversing the Fall where our Physical Body took control, subtly subduing our Spirit Mind.

Veil of Separation Religion and spirit can be interpreted in many ways. Father Moon said ‘When Jesus was crucified, the curtain between the holy place and the most holy place was torn in two, from top to bottom.’12 I.e., they were not united. The time has now come to complete the 4-position foundation in the third stage of the Origin - Division - Union process, according to the Principle.

A unification educational base was established by many scholars studying at the Unification Theological Seminary. They went out into the Christian world and promoted True Parents, Divine Principle, and all our teachings.

We have now reached a providential stage where we must also bring to God through True Parents, the rest of the non Christian world. This includes the Abrahamic and other religious peoples as well as atheists, agnostics, materialists, communists, believers in other thoughts and isms.

the speeches Father and Mother Moon have given, which can be found on line13. I also attended many of their speeches, especially those given in the later 70s and early 80s. Recently we follow True Mother on the Internet, especially on PeaceTV14, as she works toward a post victorious Vision 2020 celebrations toward 2027.

As in my angel paper, I keep my personal views out of the report unless stated, and stick to logic and sources as much as possible.

I started studying angels some 30 years ago. Culturally, I come from a Catholic background where I was told that angels had several roles. One was to unendingly sing hymns of praise to Heavenly Father, if one can imagine this to be heavenly. The other was to be intermediaries between sinful man and God. Unification Thought mentions humans are children of God15, the closest relationship there exists, according to True Parents teachings. Why is an angel higher or closer to God even when we are fallen? A parent always yearns to be in direct contact with a child even if he’s / she’s a criminal.

After True Parents gave me the Blessing I began to question the purpose and use of angels. I could now begin to relate to God fully as my Father under True Parents after total restoration, a relationship man hadn’t enjoyed since the Fall of Adam & Eve16. I’d soon discover the Catholic view went against the Bible since the Holy Book clearly states that Adam & Eve could communicate with God even after the Fall17 as long as they followed their conscience. All their descendants could also communicate with God when they followed their conscience. Only mankind has sensitivity to God; the Principle doesn’t mention exceptions. Growth requires a physical body states the Principle19.

Questioning the angel’s existence In questioning the existence of the angel I’m opening a box of worms as big and as old as religion itself. If there’s no angel, then how about Satan? The whole teaching of Chapter 2 of the Divine Principle is based on the Principle that the archangel Lucifer tempted Eve and started the process of the Fall. The Unification Thought doesn’t deny Satan but it bypasses, ignores the angel.

Studying Sumerian literature, arguably a main source of Bible teachings / writings, we see the explanation of the Fall presented in a more seemingly historic setting, involving Anunnaki and daughters of men. In their writing, each Anunnaki went after his own woman, thus there were two hundred women rather than the one Eve as presented in the Bible. Arguably these women allowed themselves to be seduced20. It would seem the compilers of the Bible created a simplified version of Mesopotamian stories, basing themselves on original texts, as if to expose the veiled face of the crime of the Fall. Did this produce giants and other beings as we read in Genesis?

Mankind in its immaturity became the source of, and embodiment of Satan, as the chosen race women willingly allowed themselves to be taken by the Anunnaki. Jesus, and later True Parents came to cut off this Original Sin, the source of Satan.

Father mentions that “The sexual organs are the original palace of the ideal love and lineage.21 He said “The sexual organs of Adam & Eve are a palace of greatness”.22 It’s natural. God designed us that way. It was to help ensure we would fulfill our 2nd blessing, to multiply under Heavenly Parent. In their immaturity, Adam & Eve, having no True Parents, didn’t have a strong guiding light, mentor. Their emotions carried them away. The yet unanswered question is why they would choose impurity? The Adams or males were not centering themselves on heart or purpose; Rev. Sudo used to say Adam was spacing out.

We humans shoulder the weight for alienating ourselves from our Heavenly Father, while additionally worshipping satanic creations, further alienating us from pure Heavenly Parent worship. We had no True Parents; indeed it was precisely they, Adam & Eve (aka the Sumerian text daughters of men) who were to grow to be the True Parents. In explaining our distancing from God, in our immature, sinful nature, we established the scapegoat of blaming an angel gone devil23.

Father refers to Satan as both he and they24, even within the same speech. He often spoke of having to go across the cosmos looking for Satan and his secrets; he fought untold Satans. He couldn’t have been looking for or following a single being / entity. He was searching for the manifestations of satanic thought emitted by fallen mankind, Heavenly Parents’ fallen children.

History of angels Historically the angel adaptation came about at a time of Israelite identity turmoil, during the Babylon Captivity25 to which they were subjected when their religion was still in an infant stage; the angel crept into the collective faith. Israelites learnt and later brought back and incorporated into their faith the already corrupted, declining Zoroastrian teachings which they in turn had inherited from Mithraism; adaptations which could not be sanctioned by God. Zoroaster, the creator of the faith, lamented its decline even during his lifetime26. He believed in a single God, just as Abraham earlier had, but he also added attributes to his belief27, making his faith impure. Believers in this

religion prayed to attributes of God; His bounty, etc.28 29 30 Later these attributes devolved further, spreading throughout the Mediterranean area, where many peoples intermingled and adopted each others’ cultures. While the Zoroastrians had their angels, the Greeks, and later the Romans, Germanic tribes and Vikings had their gods. According to Ms. Kim this also stems from a breakdown of pure Zoroastrianism. Today Jews, Christians and Muslims all have adopted the angelic teachings unreservedly, dissing our Heavenly Parent. Nevertheless, God works with results; the Principle does not qualify good or bad31.

The angel belief from its start was an aberration to God, even satanic. The angel belief, which took our focus off our Heavenly Parent, the belief and worship in one God and nothing more, that Abraham, father of the Abrahamic faiths offered up to God and for which he was blessed with countless descendants32, was undermined; it sullied our worship of a sole God, who dwells in Heaven. God now indignantly had to share our hearts with our worship of pagan thoughts and idols. We lost faith but…God works with results. Although God’s chosen people fell a few notches in purity, God had to continue working for the restoration of mankind and the cosmos through His then still chosen people, the Israelites, as He promised Abraham.

How much more persecution would True Parents have had to endure if they had spoken clearly about angels and Satan.

Undermining God’s sole place in our hearts Heavenly Parents don’t ask for glory nor praise. Including our ancestors, no one has power to assist us without help from God. Swedenborg is mentioned

in both editions of the Divine Principle33. He repeatedly claimed there are no angels as described in the Bible. Other spiritualists have echoed this insight.

Biblical Satan metaphor What about Satan, the Fall, etc? Lucifer turned Satan is a great and easy graphic way to describe the human descent into sin, away from Heavenly Parents, reminiscent to a Bible story written in Greek tragedy style. Our unclear understanding of Satan creates great confusion. As mentioned above, Father refers to Satan as both he and they34, even within the same speech.

The ancients had little understanding of God, human nature and the human mind. Evidence is in the ease into which they succumbed to idol and fantasy worship, including gods and angels, which continues to this day even among the eldest disciples of True Parents. A residual casual romance persists.

Domino parable When playing with dominoes we stand them up one behind the other, not touching. It takes but a single external force35 to knock the first one down. All following dominoes in the game fall. This is a metaphor of the real life Fall. An added dimension in this tragedy was that God waited billions of years to see His first children, Adam & Eve.

Father spoke of studying electricity and radio. Herein lies a secret to understanding the way the human mind and thoughts work.

We create an idea through a thought, which is connected to an emotion. It becomes a like complex wave, like a radio wave. The idea is born and grows through give & receive. The more we have give & receive with the idea the stronger it is in us & the easier it is to tune into it; this goes for both good and evil. Emotions of some thoughts eventually die out. Our minds are both transmitters and receivers of these ideas.

Our emotions are their creators and reinforcers. When something or someone stimulates us in a, for example, negative form, the energy in us resonates, energizing this energy wave / thought, and even creating branch thoughts, i.e., new waves such as someone made me angry, I now seek revenge.

When a thought repeats itself the emotion also repeats and reinforces itself, and our emotions quickly tune into and resonate with the frequency (wave) to which we tuned into before; like a magnetized memory. These can be both positive or negative emotions.

All negative energies (emotions) such as angers, resentments, sorrows, etc, remain in our bodies, especially in our living tissues like muscles.

We’ve seen that after a relaxing massage we feel free & clean. However, along with freeing ourselves of our stress externally, we need the internal, mental cleansing or purification .. attitude adjustment. This is the purpose of prayer, having give & receive with Heavenly words such as in HDH, and with a positive resolve to clean ourselves of (forget) that energy, i.e., take it out of our memory. As we cleanse ourselves within, so also around us that negative (impure) energy’s (frequency’s) power diminishes until there is no resonance to it.

Education is all important, as are repeating good deeds and having pure thoughts. It’s best to nip negative energies in the bud. Before they become a problem, cut them off. Satan within becomes the fertile ground of such energies. The Blessing, especially the Holy Wine, & subsequent life of purification kills Satan‘s root within; freeing us of the root of negative frequencies (sin) and fallen nature.

We must cleanse ourselves of fallen emotions. Be cool. God can’t reside in fallen man’s emotional environment. Unless a given emotion is totally connected to heart it can’t be fully connected to Heavenly Parents, much less can it work for them. Heart is spiritual; emotions are physical, i.e., satanic, when not connected to heart.

I remember Father saying he also had to cut Satan out of his body. Only with

this kind of understanding of Satan can we understand Father’s words 36 37.

Centennial celebration of True Father’s birthday - Vision 2020 As we pass through the centennial celebration of the birth year of our True Father and the 77th birthday of our True Mother, it’s imperative we keep our worshiping pure. There’s no room in our minds and hearts for anyone nor anything other than our Heavenly Parents. They are the only source of cosmic life, hope, freedom, peace, etc. In addition to the sexual purity we strive for, money, power, position, glory, etc. are other idols we must cleanse ourselves of. Today we can add idle shows, movies, TV, e-games and other activities not conducive to finding Heavenly Parents.

Our ancestors are intermediaries, and saints of the past can also only work as Heavenly Parents’ spiritual emissaries, helpers. They are not to be worshiped or even prayed to; but we can ask for their help and cooperation and they will get merit for helping us build the Cheon Il Guk. (The reader could think of how he / she relates to his own parents and relatives. We don’t worship them, but love, attend and are grateful). They can and should be thanked for their cooperation. Just as we may ask a person on this physical plane. For a would-be angel it would also be but a job; we’d thank them but definitely not praise them. All credit and gratitude is ultimately only due to Heavenly Parents. Our minds become clear and light and pure as we rid ourselves of fantasy baggage.

Conclusion To repeat, I don’t want to take any of the holiness nor sorrow away from biblical, other religious or Divine Principle teachings. They are all guiding us to Heaven, and God is working through them. The pain experienced by Heavenly

Father, True Parents, Jesus, and all God’s peoples throughout history is pure tragedy; both which we inherited and of our making. The intense sorrow and irritation God has over His inability to dwell 100% and purely in His children is unfathomable. We must now return to Him in purity; it’s never too soon. We must stop worshipping idols of all kinds. We need to do this before the next Vision 2027 celebrations.

God never created an angel; in Spirit World you’ll never see an angel that God created, not as we traditionally imagine them, as Swedenborg explained. No such angel ever became Satan; Satan is the name given to those who initially seduced God’s chosen daughters38. Could stories of Anunnaki (vs angels) be believed in, just a few generations after they were expelled? Could an angel gone devil have given more punch to a myth that Heavenly Parent would use to start restoration?

The idea of a chosen race highlights the holiness of the human race as the chosen people. A look at history of restoration we see how God’s provIdence was always centered on a chosen people. It’s my belief that this was the case in the Adam & Eve story - included in original human history. It would seem the story tellers of the Anunnaki had an inkling of this mistake, or sin, seen by the way they tell the story of them going into the daughters of man and the women allowing it. He bible took the moral of the story and ran with it.

As a last note I’d like to add that I believe the genetic creation of slaves, biblical Adam & Eve, and all their people was a specific plan by God. Sumerian history is horizontal or practical, i.e., not providential.

As exists today and at the time of Jesus, the messiah, True Parents were to have united peoples and races from all over the world. The making of mankind was a project to be conducted on planet earth to unite the children of God still in diaspora around the cosmos. Maybe earth has an atmosphere closest to ideal for all of God’s children to blend into.

Mankind created, then inherited and even today embodies Satan, source of

evil. As mentioned earlier, Father said Spirit World is different from what we imagine. We must prepare for when we go to Spirit World. As we enter the realm of True Parents we must shed all other objects of worship. Share Heavenly Parents worship with no one, not angels, not saints, nor anything.

A personal note A personal view is that the Anunnaki were a ‘pure’ race39. We can see in studying Sumerian writings that they wanted to keep their creations subdued. As mentioned earlier, could this genetic creation, mankind, have been an idea God originally put into their minds? They later destroyed it through the Fall.

What would have been the purpose for God doing so? Comparing the Sumerian epics to human history as studied in the Divine Principle we see Heavenly Father always wanted to bring His children together from a diaspora existing among His children. Over the millions or even billions of years God’s children spread throughout the cosmos, so Heavenly Parent needed to complete a 4-position foundation in an Origin - Division - Union fashion. Humans, being genetically engineered, would be but a first phase where this took place.

A bit of personal history

Most members in the Unification Movement during the 70s and 80s had spiritual missions such as witnessing, fundraising, etc. In 1976 after the Washington Monument campaign, True Parents asked who wanted to work at the soon to be created News World. I volunteered. The mission was very down to earth, though providentially important. We had to publish a newspaper everyday. We went to our areas and delivered it. I did editing work and then was a driver delivering the paper. During the late 70s True Parents asked that a supplement on extraterrestrials be published weekly40. Many members then and even today could not understand, and bordered on thinking True Parents were joking, not serious or something. Like all things from Heavenly Parents / True Parents, there are no explanations given, accompanying orders; just obey

and in time things will become clear.

Some years later True Parents had members in Korea, Japan and in the US develop what has been dubbed a spirit world machine. Again, no detail was given; we were to figure it out. Suffice to say nothing came of it. It’s not even clear to the people who had been commissioned to create this device what they were looking to make. It’s generally believed that we are to communicate with unseen beings. Are they spirits? Are they extraterrestrials? I tend to believe in the latter based on the fact we were trying to build consciousness of living beings outside our known world. The first successful landing on the moon took place less than a decade before the launching of The News World. Through good prayer we could connect with spirits, our ancestors, etc. We are looking to the future and past.

My studies have led me to dig deeper into our own, human history. There are many unexplained stories in the Bible. Could there be a connection between these extraterrestrials which True Parents are asking us to open up to, and our human history, and our future?

This paper is attempting to answer precisely that. I’m an amateur scholar. I was not a good student nor do I like reading. I love learning and exploring.

I don’t expect this paper to go down easily or quickly; as a matter of fact I expect this to be accepted generations down the road when religion has less impact.

I do believe we are genetically engineered beings. There’s a Heavenly purpose behind the horizontal script given to us by the Sumerians. True Parents have the title of True Parents of Heaven, earth and the cosmos. The last word had me thinking. It opened doors to further study and understanding. Our genetic makeup is just the beginning of our changes. Our spirit is shared cosmically by all extraterrestrials. Our physical bodies evolved independently as the diaspora of God’s children continued over millions and billions of years. It’s now time for the Union in the O-D-U process, completing the 4-position foundation.

As True Parents have come to bring together the different races and cultures on this earth through the Blessing, so must peoples from around the cosmos be brought back to be as one, genetically bringing together exotic beings. God 14

will then be complete. Our journey has only just begun.

Finally, to give a personal answer to the question (pg 6) as to why the young humans chose impurity, the Eve ladies were not being taken care of; they felt in need of attention. The young Adams were not there for them. We can only speculate why they weren’t.
