Jin Choon Kim: The Lord of the Second Advent should absolutely Fulfill God's Will in His Generation -- Part 3

Through the lecture by the president of the Cheong Shim Graduate School of Theology (Dr. Jin Choon Kim) to European Leaders in February 2012 (vimeo.com/37424913) it is clear that Father originally should have fulfilled God’s ideal during his life-time as the Lord of the Second Advent and established a New Heaven and Earth by 1952.
From the viewpoint of the parallels with Jesus’ life we know that Father was faced with the failure of the originally intended course so that a 40 year wilderness course became necessary. Just as Jesus had to walk the way of the cross at the age of 32 Father was faced with having been unable to see the realization of God’s Kingdom by 1952 when he was 32 years old but he could go through another 7 year course victoriously as the foundation for his Blessing in 1960.
And this pattern repeated after the 40 year course from 1945 to 1985 when he could only proclaim True Parents in 1992 followed by a 7 year course from 1993 until 2000. By that time the Kingdom of Heaven should have been firmly established on earth but in reality God’s providence had to be prolonged for another 12 years and by the end of that period Father had ended up on the cross – 32 years into the Children’s course which began in 1980 after True Parents had established a victorious 21 year foundation.
Between the historic dates of the birth of Christ and the Marriage of the Lamb in 1960 lie exactly 40 periods of seven times seven years during which Heaven was hoping that in the Last Days especially those who were chosen as central figures would fulfill their portion of responsibility to ensure a victorious course for the True Parents.
Unfortunately Satan could invade again and again even though True Father and True Mother had been going a victorious course on a personal level because the ones who were called to protect them and their family failed to do so to the extent that finally there was no more protection for True Father and he had to leave this world prematurely.
Jesus could not go to the family level during his 32 years on earth while Father could receive the Blessing and walk a victorious 21 year course together with True Mother until 1980 but when the members of their direct and extended family did not follow the path properly during the Children’s course Father ended up on the cross just as Jesus, betrayed by his own people.
At the time of the helicopter crash, after 4 times 7 years of our walking the Children’s course there was still enough foundation for Heaven and earth to bring about the helicopter miracle. But when we did not resurrect substantially together with True Parents and did not become new persons who are truly united with God’s desire then there was no more basis for Father to continue his life on earth and he died like Jesus on the cross.
According to the president of the Cheong Shim Graduate School of Theology only Father can bring about the realization of God’s Kingdom: “Who can solve that fundamental mission? Even True Children cannot solve that task. We also cannot solve that fundamental task. Every day True Father’s life and True Mother’s life is really difficult in heart because they cannot escape from these fundamental missions…”
Now, that Father has left this world, do we expect True Mother to fulfill the task of building Cheon Il Guk substantially? Or do we realize that each one of us is called to come forward and become not only an Individual and Family but also Tribal Messiah?
Will we now show a mature attitude and take the burden from the shoulders of True Mother and establish the right Heavenly tradition of absolutely dedicated public life and full accountability for our actions, complete transparency and total openness to search for God’s Will in every situation? Will we finally behave as grown up sons and daughters of God who have learned to build God-centered relationships which will ensure the realization of a world which is centered on True Love.
Dr. Jin Choon Kim introduced the special program called True Parents studies: “In our school we have major in True Parents studies. This study focuses on God, True Parents and Cheon Il Guk. Our school is like Cheon Il Guk institute or seminary…”
He explained that in his school a lot of research work is done with many kinds of presentations in class. Usually research and study is done in discussion style, “Always we discuss about CIG, substantial Cheon Il Guk. Philosophy of education research…
We have three majors: CIG studies, CIG spirituality and church management studies. In this way we really want to contribute to the substantial Cheon Il Guk.
And we also study about mind. We should have 4 position Foundation emotion, intellect and will centered on heart. Beauty, truth and goodness, all must be harmonized centered on True Love.”
Concerning alignment Dr. Kim mentioned: “We should have vertical and horizontal alignment in our daily life on campus. We really emphasize about alignment…”
The decisive question is: What do we mean when we speak about alignment? Are we concerned that people are obedient to leaders or do we raise sons and daughters of God who have a living relationship with our Heavenly Parent and who have learnt to be united and one in heart as true brothers and sisters?
Dr. Jin Choon Kim explained that 4 tracks of specialization courses are offered to the students: (1) church leader course (2) providential organization course (3) researcher course and (4) lifelong education course.
It is certainly good to provide such opportunities for further studies to work more effectively to support God’s providence but at the same time it is a pity that such an opportunity is only given to those who have already a college or university degree while I consider it to be part of the basic education of Unificationists to know clearly about how the Kingdom of Heaven can be established concretely.
The lecturer pointed out that there is a special program to learn about the substantial realization of Cheon Il Guk, whereby they read daily Hoon Dok Hae for 40 minutes and then for about 15 minutes they share about how to apply the content which was read. Shouldn’t all core members of our movement have such a standard concerning studying the Word of God and learning from one another about how to put it into practice?
Dr. Kim also mentioned that his school developed some programs in respect to Cheon Il Guk habits. In January 2010 Hyung jin Nim gave special instruction to concentrate on themes like faith versus theology, testifying to True Parents, practical faith, True Love theology, True Parents age, strong discipline, etc.
The president of the Cheong Shim Graduate School of Theology told the European leaders that once a month the students go to witness together to Cheon Bok Gung for witnessing and they test their mind and behavior in the light of 12 themes. “Every month we check and make diagram. What is my shape of my behavior and of my attitude? Step by step you correct, systematic analysis like a medical system… Cultivating myself, raising leaders for Cheon Il Guk we need certain discipline, certain programs to reform ourselves.”
Should such a fundamental education on how to develop good habits not be well in place for all members of our movement and not only be provided for a certain elite group of members who can afford to study in our theological graduate school?
Dr. Kim explained that the cost for the 2 years program of studying, room and board altogether is 6,400 Euro whereby, “Dae Mo Nim supports 7,000 Euro for each student as a scholarship.” Whose money is Dae Mo Nim providing? As she is in spirit world she can only ask that the money which was given for ancestor liberation to be used for that purpose.
Of course it is good when students are supported but there are so many more educational programs for our Second Generation which would require financial input in order to develop them further, but is such money provided for the sake of raising Blessed children which True Mother is emphasizing a lot?
Dr. Jin Choon Kim concluded his lecture by encouraging his audience: “Let us become True Parents’ heirs, inheriting their life or death devotion and bring revolutionary change in Europe.” How many members do we have who have inherited such a serious dedication towards the realization of God’s Kingdom during our life-time?
We really need to face this and many other questions honestly and listen to the voices of those who speak out based on having worked on the frontline of restoration for many years like Thomas Cromwell whose valuable appeal to Return God to the Center of our movement can be found at www.tparents.org/Library/Unification/Talks/Cromwell/Cromwell-121022.htm
Thomas Cromwell writes: “Any serious reformation movement has to go to the roots. It has to find out why and how the Unification Church has failed so badly to be the place where people everywhere can meet God and deepen their relationship with Him. And what can be done to fix this?
The Unification endeavor was always ambitious, seeking as it does to bring together on a deep level people of widely divergent religious and cultural backgrounds. Some of the corruption that is so disturbing in the Unification Church is the result of gross failures in this area. The name Unification Church itself is problematic. What does it mean? Isn’t the real objective to establish God-centered individuals, families, nations and thence a God-centered world in which people of all backgrounds can find and live with a common Divine Parent?
This Unificationist vision is what the Unificationist Church structures, whatever they are called, must nurture and enable.”
These are certainly valuable considerations as well as the statement that “cleaning up HSA in America and ending the devastating round of intra-Moon family lawsuits should be seen as only secondary issues, not the primary purpose of reformation. The true purpose of reformation is to address the fundamental problems of the Unification Church worldwide, problems that have produced a culture of Godless corruption.”
Such a failure on our side is the root cause for True Father having had to leave this earth prematurely without having been able to fulfill the mission of the Lord of the Second Advent. Therefore we must really wake up to the realization of what we have done and start immediately to clean up all aspects of our movement where evil has managed to infiltrate the hearts and minds of leaders and members.
May we all take this fact deeply to heart and do what needs to be done now because it is our responsibility to liberate God and True Parents by bringing the Children’s course to a victorious conclusion in the form of the realization of a world where True Love reigns.
