According to the UN Sustainable Development Goal #5 to “Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls,” women exceed men in education yet struggle in other areas, such as career and finances. GDP calculations ignore the value of love and domestic service by mothers, while children are often seen as obstacles. Ideas that devalue families and separate sex from love and childrearing have led to plummeting birthrates around the world.
