International Association of Academicians for Peace: Forgiveness as a path to peace and harmony Universal Values Webinar Series
Tuesday, October 29, 2024 @ 2-3 PM EDT Peace and harmony may seem unattainable in the face of the numerous conflicts in our world today. People are constantly reminded of past grief as victors or victims by holidays, statues and tales of heroism. It is curious that revenge and violence still reign in this age of abundant information and have the power to polarize humanity to act destructively. International rules of fair play and mutual agreements to limit conflict have had limited success and are often ignored. Even those who can analyze the world according to science rarely apply it to human interactions. Something elusive is lacking in the application of human and natural law.
Enter the element of “forgiveness.” Kindly join our panel to explore the exit ramp of forgiveness from the wide and busy freeway of polarization and fighting. This is a less-travelled path to peace and harmony for which long-time forgiveness activist and educator Roger Epstein and the practical wisdom of Dr. Sandra and John Lowen can be exceedingly useful. Hosts Drs. Staffan Berg and Jeffrey Nakama of UPF invite you to enhance the discussion with your presence.
