Announcing Personnel Change - Crescentia DeGoede replaces Phillip Schanker

We want to inform you of the farewell of Rev. Phillip Schanker from his role as National Director of the Blessed Family Department. He served with distinction for fourteen years as a member of FFWPU USA National Headquarters and is being succeeded by Mrs. Crescentia DeGoede as National Director of the Blessing and Family Ministry.

Rev. Schanker was born in Detroit, Michigan and joined the Unification Church in 1972 at the age of 18. He spent his early church years pioneering churches and developing his skills as an educator. He later worked for seven years as a missionary in Africa and Southeast Asia. Over time, he became highly renowned as a leading teacher of the Divine Principle in America and internationally. His recorded lectures are widely in use today.

During his term at National Headquarters, Rev. Schanker served as Vice-President for Public Affairs from 1999 to 2003; as Vice-President for Education from 2004 to 2008; and as Director of the Blessed Family Department from 2009 to 2013. He pioneered new educational measures to guide young couples toward the matching process and is the co-author of the second edition of the Family Matching Handbook (2013).
