Summer Harp Workshop in Madrid, Spain

2013-08-08 · Source: tparents.org

We have celebrated our Harp Summer Workshop in our training center near Madrid from June 28th to July 8th. This time it was 9 full days so all our efforts were needed. The theme was: INEXTINGUISHABLE, the more adversity, the greater will be our light. The first two days were like an introduction and quickly we could create a family atmosphere between all the participants, through the lectures given by young people speaking about gratitude, the providence, challenges and victories, and different activities. The challenge day was very special, as it was almost 2 days. First of all they had to go to the village nearby and realize different activities with the people , like give a DP lecture to somebody and make a photo with the person etc.. Then they had to climb up a mountain, challenging the hot temperature, the steep slopes and mosquitoes. One of our young man pulled a muscle and almost could not walk but he was determined to go over and at the end a team of 4 people helped him to arrive on the top of the mountain. We could understand that working like a team is the best way to go over and be victorious and were so happy. At the top we looked for a place to sleep. On the next day we had a new challenge 2 hours fundraising that was totally new for most of them. We had a goal of 400€, but we could do even more almost 480€. We could learn a lot during this day. Then the following days we had vigil prayer and lectures, testimonies, especially a young couple who has been blessed last year. After a few days we could feel a little bit tired, but we tried to go over and follow with the same speed that in the beginning. It´s true that we always have to make more efforts so that everything could be better but I can say that this workshop has been very special for many of them. To conclude, I would like to thank all those who have participated in this workshop and also the parents who put their trust in us, the lecturers, the staff and thank God and True Parents to give us this opportunity in this workshop.
