  1. Sangsa-ri, Jeongju

    1920

    North Pyongan, Korea (now DPRK)

    Rev. Sun Myung Moon was born here on 6 January 1920 (lunar). The village lies in present-day North Korea.

  2. Mount Myodu

    1935

    North Korea

    On Easter morning, 17 April 1935, the 15-year-old Sun Myung Moon, praying on this mountain, received the call from Jesus that began his mission.

  3. Hungnam Special Labor Camp

    1948–1950

    Hamhung, North Korea

    Rev. Moon was sentenced to five years' hard labor here in 1948 by the North Korean communist regime. He was freed by the United Nations forces in October 1950, after 2 years and 8 months.

  4. Anheung-ri, Jeongju

    1943

    South Pyongan, Korea

    Birthplace of Hak Ja Han Moon on 10 January 1943 (lunar), into a deeply Christian family that would later flee south during the Korean War.

  5. Cheongpa-dong, Seoul

    1954

    South Korea

    The first Holy Ground of the Unification movement. Rev. Moon founded the Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity here on 1 May 1954.

  6. Cheongpa-dong Headquarters Church

    Seoul, South Korea

    Site of the Holy Wedding of Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Hak Ja Han on 11 April 1960 — the founding event of the True Family.

    The spiritual heart of the contemporary movement. Site of major Blessing ceremonies and the residence of True Mother since 2012.

    The training center of the American Unification Church through the 1970s and ’80s. Site of countless leadership conferences and speeches.

  10. Madison Square Garden

    1982

    New York City, USA

    Site of the 1 July 1982 Holy Marriage Blessing of 2,075 couples — the ceremony that introduced the Blessing to mainstream Western media.

  11. Danbury Federal Correctional Institution

    1984–1985

    Danbury, Connecticut, USA

    Rev. Moon served 13 months here in 1984–85 on a controversial tax conviction. A major chapter in the movement's American story.

  12. Cheon Jeong Gung Museum

    2006–present

    Cheongpyeong, South Korea

    The "Original Palace of Cheon Il Guk" — a granite palace and museum complex completed in 2006 as the central palace of the realized Kingdom.

  13. HJ Magnolia International Peace Hospital

    2012

    Gapyeong, South Korea

    The Cheongshim International Medical Center, where Rev. Moon ascended (Seonghwa) on 3 September 2012 at age 92.
