Arcanjo Espindola

Arcanjo entered the church in 1982. He was older than most members and a successful businessman, but he left everything behind and started from the bottom. During the bitter persecution of the Brazilian church he was saved from an enraged mob by a friend, who was a policeman. During those difficult times he developed a perfume business which enabled the state church to get back on it's feet. He travelled through several states selling perfume in hand made packaging which was produced by the members and indigenous communities.

He received the blessing in 1989, inheriting the 118 Couples' blessing.

Arcanjo was a missionary, tribal messiah and later state leader for 9 years. In his later years he was well known as a Peace Ambassador and did much to further the work of UPF in the state. He participated in a weekly TV program and wrote articles for a monthly newspaper.

He counselled many people and was invited to Korea to give testimony to True Father about his work of inspiring people to read the Divine Principle for ninety minutes a day.

Arcanjo was always available when people needed him, no matter what time of day or night, and was always full of love and laughter, one of his favourite sayings was, "If you change, everything around you will change".

Perhaps his life can be best summed up in the words of one of our friends: "One life lived, many lives touched".
